kelpie by Shadowtainted kelpie by Shadowtainted
steed of the waters, luring the foolish or unsuspecting upon its dark back, only to ride into the waves, taking it's new meal with it.~
the kelpie is not something you want to mess around with, it looks like a dark or black horse, but it preys upon any who try to ride it, drowning them and then consuming them. One sign of the kelpie is that the animal's mane and fur is wet, and never dries. Due to a recent project I started, I've been designing many mythical creatures like this one. hope y'all like^^

thank you. you wouldn't happen to have any other mythical creatures you would like to suggest I take a try at designing, would you?

Oh goodness, there are so many to choose from! Sticking with the equine look, you could try a kirin, or a nightmare. As for other creatures, there's always the gryphon, asian dragon, werewolf or sea serpent. I think any of those would look awesome in your style!

What trinkets ward off this beast?

only cold steel works against the creature, as it does most of the denizens of the fae world. but be warned, no little charm on a necklace will work, it must be an item used against it, such as armor or a weapon.for it is the touch of the metal that burns, not the presence.

This looks really good, the mouth study is very impressive. I find horses hard to draw as my kelpies never look quite right despite references from horse books XD

I like the colouring and the fins.
